When considering mechanical chronographs, the 1980's and early 90's are often viewed as forgettable. Blingy, bad taste, bi-metal, quartz, or me-too automatics are just some of the characteristics that come to mind to describe the era. Then you have the brands Ebel, Movado, Concord, and even Omega making some very of the times pieces. Jaeger-LeCoultre Grande Reverso 1931 Seconde Centrale
Somehow, this Grande Reverso wasnt shown during the presentation of Jaeger-LeCoultre this year in Geneva. However, it was on display in the lobby of the Jaeger-LeCoultre booth so we asked if we could see it up close.The little sign on the plate next to the watch said that it was inspired by the Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso model from 1935, with a central second hand, but yet it is called the Jaeger-LeCoultre Grande Reverso 1931. In any case, this vintage looking and inspired watch is a beautiful pie....
Why I Bought The Omega Seamaster 300 Heritage Dive Watch
It doesnt feel like much time has passed since my previous Why I bought- article. My subject last time was the new caliber 3861 Moonwatch with sapphire crystal. I find myself reaching into my admittedly shallower pockets again for another brand new 2021 Omega watch under five months later. This time it was the turn of the heritage diving watch, the Seamaster 300. Another new watch isnt doing my vintage watch street cred, nor bank account, any good. And I already have the Tudor Black Bay to fulfi....
